We know that many families struggle with senior care decisions. For nearly 100 years, the Good Samaritan Society has helped families navigate these changes. Our team at Good Samaritan Society – Legacy Home Care is ready to answer questions about your home care decisions, and we’re ready to help when it’s time.

Home Care services consist of Skilled Nursing, Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy and Speech Therapy. All of these specialized treatments can be provided wherever you call home. Medicaid, Medicare, and Medicare Replacement plans are covered at 100%, not 80/20 like hospital claims.

Here’s a brief summary of the treatment that our Occupational Therapists can provide in your home.

  • Evaluation of Daily Routines. Your daily routines can feel overwhelming when layered on top of chronic illness, or a recent hospital stay. Our team can evaluate your activities of daily living and provide practical techniques that improve your independence.
  • Energy Conservation Techniques. We use energy to perform every task throughout the day. Our therapists can train you to preserve that energy for the tasks that improve your quality of life.
  • Adaptive Equipment Training and Evaluation. New equipment can make your life more accessible, while the wrong equipment can slow us down or even cause injury. Our team can recommend and train you to safely use adaptive equipment to enhance your independence.
  • Home Safety Evaluation. Comprehensive home safety assessments examine the spaces in your home that are likely to cause falls or injury. We can assess your ability to navigate and perform activities in the bathroom, laundry room, kitchen, bedroom, etc. Then, make recommendations for fall prevention and potential home modifications to improve your safety and independence.

If you or a loved one is struggling with any of these services at home, please don’t hesitate to call for more information. Our team at Good Samaritan Society – Legacy Home Care is standing by to answer questions, and provide the assistance that you need in your home.
