These heart healthy cranberry bars 

are delicious and will make a nice 

addition to your Thanksgiving dessert 

table. 

 

 

 

“Oat-Cranberry Bars” 

 

1 cup oats 

¼ cup fresh cranberries (chopped) 

¼ cup oil 

½ cup applesauce 

1 teaspoon almond extract 

2 egg whites (beaten) 

½ cup milk 

½ teaspoon baking soda 

1 cup flour 

½ cup wheat flour 

1/3 cup brown sugar 

 

Mix dry ingredient together. 

 Then whisk milk, oil, egg whites, 

 almond extract, applesauce and stir into 

 dry mixture. Add cranberries, stir well. 

Put into a foil lined 8×8 pan. 

Make topping of butter, oats, and pecans, 

sprinkle over top of mixture. Bake at 350, 

for 20 minutes. 

 

 

“Topping” 

½ cup pecans 

2 tablespoons cold butter 

¼ cup brown sugar 

½ cup oats
