The Family Resource Center at Dignity Health Yavapai Regional Medical Center is offering free car seat safety checks as part of Child Passenger Safety Week (September 17-23, 2023). The event takes place on Monday, September 18 from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m. in the parking lot of the Del E. Webb Outpatient Center, 3262 N. Windsong Road, Prescott Valley.

The checks are designed to ensure child car seats are secured safely and in good condition. Additionally, the Family Resource Center is installing infant, convertible, and booster car seats, which are provided free by the Arizona Governor’s Office of Highway Safety. Registration is required to receive a free car seat. Call (928) 771-5651 to register for a car seat.

Participating in the car seat safety event requires:

  • A vehicle with working seat belts. (Broken belts may be repairable free of charge at local car dealerships; call dealerships for details.)
  • The vehicle(s), child (or children), and caregiver(s) who will use the car seat(s) the most.

The car seat installation and safety education component takes approximately 20–25 minutes per seat.
