Question: Can I eat or drink my live fresh marijuana plant?
Answer: Absolutely! It is the best and healthiest way to consume cannabis. Science says cannabis in its raw plant form is a whole food just like a blueberry, mango, and banana. In the raw live plant, there are 487 components that our bodies use: Every vitamin, minerals, enzymes, amino-acids, flavonoids, fiber, cannabinoids, terpenoids, is just the short list. When we eat or drink the raw plant you will not get “High” unless you heat the plant over boiling point of 212 degrees. The live plant is non-psychoactive.
With so many people growing their own cannabis, the leaves and/or flowers can be made into juice in a wheat grass juicer. This method is called “cold pressed” juice. I like to add a little soft fruit like kiwi, mango, watermelon, or pineapple to improve the flavor. One oz of juice gives you 600 mg of the healing properties where if you take the same plant, dry it and smoke it, you get 10% of what the plant has to offer. Smoothies can be made with a blender or centrifugal juicer. When you juice cannabis, it should be consumed right away and not made in advance. Cannabis oxidizes just like a cut potato turns brown losing live enzymes and amino acids. To heal your body during or after a health crisis it is suggested you drink two 1oz green juices daily.
The leaves and flowers can also be broken into a fresh salad or pasta just like other fresh herbs with a little drizzle of olive oil to make a tasty dish. Fresh cannabis can be added to sauces of any kind and sautéed into your stir fry and added to steamed vegetables. Some people like to put fresh marijuana leaves and flowers into a pressure cooker with milk and infuse the milk then strain out the plant. All the health benefits of the plant are now in the milk and your infused milk can be used for cereal, coffee, tea, or any recipe that calls for milk.
Eating or drinking fresh cannabis/marijuana leaves and flowers is a great source of nutrition, reduces inflammation, builds up in your endocannabinoid system, capable of restoring health and wellness. The best part is you never get “high” and do receive all the benefits the plant has to offer.
Remember, cannabis/marijuana is an anti-bacterial, anti-viral, and anti-fungal. For the first week or so you might have a cleansing effect as the cannabis kills the bad things living in your gut. The longer you use fresh cannabis the healthier you will feel.
